The basic suite of I life software it ships with is quite good. Some sites will not work with safari, the proprietory mac browser, but, because mac is open source quickly download firefox for free and you can go anywhere.Battery heats the case up,makes a great hand warmer in winter. This model has been out for well over a year now,so the specs are most likely dated. Had it over a year, enjoyable. Its like finding the right partner in life.the many little syncronicity -like things that just go right that endear you to this little guy month in month out.I was afraid the plastic shell would crack or leopard would not deliver on the: it just works promise. It does.
The only complaint is that the edges of the case are sharp and dig into my palms and wrist. I'll keep this short and sweet As a recent convert to the Mac I was pleasantly surprised at how much I like this little Mac. That is only a minor issue. I have read several complaints about this issue. It just works and does what it is supposed to do. The only reason I have not totally switched over to Mac is, there does not seem to be a Mac version of MS Money or any nice financial software for the Mac.
Pro:- Great device, but extremely basic- Does alot of basic stuff such as word, surfing the internet, and chat- nice and small, but leaves mark after long time use ( year or so)Con:- Expensive for the hardware- Macbook Pro would be alot better for best value
An appointment doesn't mean immediate help but possibly around your appointed time on a shared basis with another person that has an appointment too for the IPhone or IPOD. For MAC newbiesI can't review the specs of the machine I will leave it to the experts but I will discuss what happened after my MAC broke down. The experience:My computer started to act up I tried to troubleshoot the problem on apple.com. I was asked if I had an appointment. Final- As a PC user interfacing with the MAC is great.
Why do they think it is value added to have the potential new customers of their products stand and wait with people having problems. From my experience at lunch time and during the evening the wait could be long and frustrating. Fortunately, I was able to figure out that if I go to my trash I will find the bookmark.plist file and restore my bookmarks.Apple store please let me tell you my computer problems and fix it having the choice to leave it over your preference of me making an appointment.Scratching my head over Apple's strategy:They have the sales strategy down to a science, but the backend support needs an overhaul. I lost my favorites on Safari.
Finally with some understanding that my $1,500 computer had problems and that it didn't matter if it was at home or at the store for a week they let me drop it off. As a user my preference:Let me know that as a Genius you may delete something that I did not save. After a few days of the "self IT help", I took it to the Apple store during lunch. Translation more waiting time.
Note: on the form that you sign a potential $100 charge may apply to your service. The appointment:They got the parts in and I made an appointment. I was told to take it to another Apple store they were too busy. A Genius tech was able to put in a test part until replacement parts came into the Apple store.
It crashes much more frequently than my recent Windows machines, which says a lot, since Windows is none too trustworthy. If only they worked all the time--or even more of the time, I'd say they have a superior product. I thought I'd try the alternative to Windows machines, and it's been a big disappointment. That said, I like the physical layout, the size & weight, and the Mac applications. But, unhappily, it just ain't so. While the MacBook is sleek and sexy, it's also extremely unreliable; the operating system crashes at least every day. Apple pumps out OS updates on a regular basis, but nothing has improved this crash-prone white elephant.
